The Clinical Assessment is the third and final part of the APC Assessment Process to qualify for registration to practise. A candidate is able to apply for the third and final part of the APC Assessment Process when he or she passes the Written Assessment. The Clinical Assessment can only be completed in Australia.
The Clinical Assessment covers the key areas of physiotherapy practice in Australia:
- musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- neurological physiotherapy
- cardiorespiratory physiotherapy
In order to pass the Clinical Assessment, a candidate must demonstrate that he or she is currently suitable to practice physiotherapy independently in Australia by undertaking a safe and effective consultation with three real patients - one in each key area of practice.
